In 2026 we started working with the Open University on a number of projects for both 2026 and 2027, beginning with a short documentary about Dunwich on the Suffolk coast, a now very small, picturesque village but once a large important bustling medieval port city that roughly 90% of which was washed away into the North Sea due to centuries of coastal erosion.

Made with the co-operation of Dunwich Museum, the documentary Walking the Lost Coast: the Literary Heritage of Dunwich follows a group of writers taking part in an historical walk around what remains of Dunwich today, followed by a creative writing workshop, and features known writings and poems about Dunwich written in the 19th and 20th Centuries by well known writers including Henry James and Algernon Swinburne.

Filming took place over a few days, and included a drone shoot to capture ‘surreal’ high-altitude aerial footage as imagery backdrop for the poetry, which is read by actor Paul Leonard (Bridgerton, House of the Dragon, Darkest Hour). The documentary’s score, featuring only classical guitar, was composed and performed by long time creative-collaborator Alejandro de Valera. The film will be online soon (duration: 15 minutes).

With huge thanks to Philip Seargeant and the Open University team.
