Sonic Wave is a live concert series we’re producing in Suffolk, with support from the UK government’s Supporting Grassroots Music programme via Arts Council England; which in 2024 received a £5 million investment and in 2025 a further £2.5 million from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport to support the whole UK’s grassroots music scene.
Bringing an eclectic palette of musical experiences to the Waveney Valley, the Sonic Wave events take place at The Cut arts centre in Halesworth, The Fisher Theatre in Bungay, and other venues in the region, with acts crossing over and blending the worlds of folk, world, jazz and electronic. Artists featured are a dynamic mix of touring acts and local talent. Aafke Groeneveld, manager of The Cut Arts Centre in Halesworth said: “Maintaining venues in rural areas is vital as it is sometimes people’s only access to music and culture.”
